Here’s another reason to show respect for our bodies by eating healthy. Turns out that drinking more than 4 sweetened soft drinks a day comes with a 30-40% increased risk of depression. And drinkers of artificially-sweetened soft drinks aren’t off the hook, either. Researchers speculate that aspartame may be the culprit in the low-cal drinks, which show a slight increase in risk for depression. Bottom line? Nobody eats (or exercises or sleeps) perfectly all the time, but try to make good choices 90% of the time.
